Sunday Discovery #2

25.3.12
Sunday has come around once again and of course this means time to trawl the internet for hidden goodies...

Today has brought to light TurquoiseCity Jewelry available through Etsy. The brand offers amazing handmade items, our favourite being the massive range of delicate bangles!

Here is a little taster of what is on offer:

As you've probably assumed they focus on the turquoise stone but there are also other jewels available across the range.

We've selected a few of our favourites to show you:
(none of which contain stones actually - we are just keeping it simple...!)

Can you believe each of these beauties is only £6.44?!

They also offer a few bracelet package deals which are so cute:

1. £18.08                                      2. £17.44                                         3. £16.14

There are also gorgeous necklaces and earrings available but we'll leave that to your discovery...

We intend to buy a few of these numbers because for such a cheap price, how can you refuse?!

Which is your favourite and are you tempted towards anything in particular?

Wednesday Wardrobe #1 - Florence Welch

21.3.12

Yep, Florence Welch is one crazy lady when it comes to the stage, but her hardcore hippy style is far more laid back. She wears everything from maxis, pastels, leather, and prints effortlessly, and for that, we salute you Florence!

Though we're not quite as daring in the fashion department, we've put together two outfits inspired by Miss Welch that we would definitely try out...

Florence Welch

What do you think of Florence's style? Suitable for this SS12?

Graze goodies...

17.3.12
There is no denying Groupon has it's ups and downs but we got lucky this time with a voucher giving us 4 graze boxes for £5.
Quite the bargain!!

We left the food options pretty wide as we figured there is not much point doing it if you take most of the foods off. Sadly however, the chocolate options had to be erased because I've given it up for lent (c'mon willpower...)

Our first two orders came together; must have been a mix up in the post but we didn't mind. Just meant we got double the amount of goods.

Here is what Graze had to offer:

I was pleasantly surprised by both contents as there was a good combination between sweet and savoury snacks - things like nuts and dried fruit always come in handy to jazz up cereal or yoghurt!

I absolutely adore vanilla seeds so these were a good surprise!!
The little packets are also really handy to take in your bag when you are out of the house all day.

Over all, these collections were really tasty!
I'd forgotten my love for sun-dried tomato bread so am gonna be making some of this in the near future. Yum.

Do any of you subscribe to Graze or are tempted to do so?

Happy St. Patricks Day!!

Guinness, Baileys, Whiskey, Jigs, Pub music, Patrick Keilty, Westlife, P.S I love you, Potatoes, Hot accents, Clovers, Collin Farrell, Leprachauns, Lucky Charms, U2, The Pogues, Stavros Flatley, Flutes, Harps, Violins, Jonathan Ryes-Meyers, Graham Norton, Oscar Wilde, Gaelic football...and loads of other things!!!

Today is celebrating all things Irish, generally an excuse to get drunk and be merry! As I said in the last post, I'm now in London ready for the St. Patricks Day parade at Trafalgar Square tomorrow, very exciting! Of course, if there's one way we like to show our appreciation, it's using nail art...

My Irish man was also kind enough to buy me these lovely socks which he wants me to wear for the parade tomorrow, should be an interesting addition to my outfit! It should be a great weekend, though I'll be feeling terrible on the train home Monday morning.

Are any of you celebrating St. Patricks Day? And will you be wearing anything as cool as these socks? I think not...

Lace collar & Lipsticks..

14.3.12
This week has been a bit of a flop after all the excitement last week (birthdays etc). Every time an event comes and goes, the realisation kicks in that uni is slowly and painfully coming to an end for me. Yes, I am very jealous of Gabs for having another year of fun, so I'm desperately trying to make the most of the last few months, at the expense of my work load, which is why I'm going to the St. Patricks Day Parade in London this weekend! My Irish boyfriend goes every year and the last time I went it was insane! Lots of drinking from noon, irish jigs, loud singing, green, white, and orange everywhere!

ANYWAY, this outfit is pretty simple but I wanted to showcase my new collar that I bought for pennies on eBay a while back (from Hong Kong) as it's finally been delivered!

I bought the pastel pink jeans from eBay last year and they just so happen to be hot for SS12, woop woop! I saw them in Zara initially but, as always, prayed that they would exist somewhere on eBay and they did! £7, half the price!

I've also invested in a couple of lipsticks this week. I didn't realise just how addictive they can be, especially when the collection starts to build up and they look so pretty all together in a row!

The first one is Rimmel Colour Show Off in Pink Gossip. I bought this a little while ago and lost it on a night out, then when my new one arrived I realised how much I've missed it and had to show you the colour on actual lips - peachy! The second is Revlon Colour Burst in Blush. Unfortunately for me, the colour is EXACTLY the same as my natural lipcolour, minus the sparkles, which means it doesn't make much of a difference. I should probably try nudier (is that a word?) colours but I'm scared of the foundation lip look. Oh! And price wise, these were both brand new from eBay as they sell samples and last season stuff for less. Rimmel - £2.99 (RRP £6.29) and Revlon - £2.85 (RRP £7.99).

Gabs and I have been thinking about our blog and what we post about, we would love it if you could give us some feedback on what you like to read on here? Our main theme is budget fashion, but we also blog about recent trends, nail art, DIY fashion, celebrity style, interesting brands, and beauty reviews.

We'd really appreciate it if you'd let us know!

You can find plenty of lipstick options at Kmart with these coupons!

Birthday cake & Glossy box...

12.3.12
In this stressful time of dissertation drafts and library life, a birthday is always the highlight of the week! Especially when one of your housemates turns 21 and you get to celebrate BIG TIME! Cue cake making, present buying, drink downing, everything good.

One of my housemates was also hosting a Come dine with me themed dinner party at ours too, and made some amazing whoopies (apparently named because the husbands would find them in their lunchboxes and shout 'whoopie!'). Oh heavenly cake and cream sandwich!

As part of my birthday present last month, my boyfriend did some snooping and saw I'd been looking on the Glossy Box website so ordered me a few! This months box is a collaboration with Harrods, based on luxury products as you might have guessed. I've read many a post about Glossy Box and beauty boxes in general, and it seems to be fairly hit and miss, but I've heard this is a particularly good one so WEHEY!!

As you can see, some very luxurious products there! I would rather not give you a run down from the leaflet that comes with the box, so here's my personal interpretation.

1. Lancome Juicy Tubes in Toffee R&B - This blissful high-end lipgloss smells like one big toffee sundae, yes I did have a little taste, but it also looks sleek and subtle if you manage to keep it on your lips.

2. Revive Intensity Cream - Apparently this petite pot of cream firms and revives the skin. I'm hoping it works for under the eye moisturiser and will help carry the baggage.

3. Clarins Extra-Firming Body Cream - A nicely sized tube too! Not sure where to apply this but it probably won't cover my thighs, might try it on the double chin instead.

4. Bliss Blood Orange & White Pepper Body Butter - A confusing concoction, but it actually smells very refreshing! The instructions tell you to 'slather' this on 'parched' skin. Appertising...

5. Vanitas Versace Perfume - EXTREMELY cute miniature bottle, and a lovely decadent, slightly fruity scent. Will be saving this for any royal events/luncheon dinners/posh times come about, if these ever happen.

All very exciting! Do any of you subscribe to Glossy Box? I'm not sure if it would be worth it for me, though I love getting any form of post, and find mini beauty products delightful.

Sunday Discovery #1

11.3.12
This website is a complete gem of a find!
Spool No.72 is an American based, online fashion retailer but thankfully for us, it delivers to the UK as well... phew!

The items on their website really scream summer and have got us all excited for the coming months! (Fingers crossed the English weather can hold out). The sun is definitely shining today so that is probably encouraging our summery thoughts but we all know how temperamental the weather can be.

Nonetheless, this website really is too good to ignore.
Here is why:

These aren't the cheapest things in the world but some are really unique and they really are perfect for summer!
Look at the accessories they have to choose from too:

1. $22
2. $58
3. $26
4. $32
5. $32
6. $44

All six of these items are to die for!! We've never seen a ring quite like this one and the coloured bag would brighten up any outfit.

Last but not least, thpièce de résistance for us are these incredible wedges:

They are $52 but we have honestly never seen any wedges quite like them and once again, they are completely perfect for summer!

What do you think about Spool No.72? Are you as in love as we are?

Burgundy sparkles

9.3.12
It's finally the end of the week, which is great because it's my housemate Fran's birthday, meaning fajitas, cake, balloons, drink, and a big night out!! But not so good as the work load will definitely be suffering this weekend.

Anyway, here is an outfit I wore the other day, to showcase how versatile my new Vera Moda white shirt dress - £3.04 from eBay. It happens to go wonderfully with several of my jumpers, including this burgundy one I bought ages ago from a charity shop for next to nothing. For some reason I thought it would only be good for the festive season, turns out it works for english weather in general.

The eyeshadow and vaseline is a little trick I actually learnt from Gabs (the other half of this blog) when she did a post on 'Versatile Vaseline' here. Since I just bought this AMAZING eyeshadow palette (also from eBay, of course) for a sweet £7, I now have unlimited lip colouring! 88 colours, and they do different kinds too! Check it out here.

Also had a look through the latest Company magazine, happy to see some of our favourite bloggers winning the big awards! There were a few pictures on Gem Fatale's blog that summarise the event well! Some lovely outfits were obviously snapped, number 1 problem with being a fashion blogger is definitely the outfit envy followed by impulsive online shopping.

Anyway, time for me to actually do something today and stop watching SATC/ start getting ready for the night!

If you need eyeshadow you can definitely buy it at JC Penney with these coupons!
